Fighting for the freedom of Coloradans to defend their health

MaskTogetherColorado is the first chapter of MaskTogetherAmerica.  The MaskTogetherColorado team is committed to fighting for the rights of all Coloradans in making positive health choices for themselves, their families, and communities. In the face of weakening public health resources and guidance, we work to fill the void with accurate and well-researched information and advocacy towards keeping our community healthy. We are a tight-knit band of friends who deeply care about our shared goals to make our state a safer place. 

Our top priorities are to ensure:

1. The right to wear a respirator or other mask in public for protection from airborne hazards such as viruses, allergens, and smoke
2. Access to accurate data on the circulation levels of infectious disease in the state, on wildfire smoke and other air pollution, on the ongoing risks of long COVID, and more
3. Universal statewide vaccine access for updated COVID and flu vaccines as well as all routine childhood and adult vaccinations
4. Telehealth options for expanded access to health care
5. Clean air in schools to protect our children from airborne viruses and air pollution
6. Masking in all healthcare settings to ensure safe access to health care and prevent disease outbreaks in hospitals
7. Affordable, statewide testing availability for COVID, flu, and other infectious diseases

What we are working on

Safety tips — We share demos and tips on masking and cleaning the air through our social media accounts and local events.

Wastewater Data — We work with the wastewater data team at the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) to get accurate data on virus levels communicated clearly to Coloradans throughout the state, both via our social media platforms and through feedback to CDPHE on their data communication on their website.

Features — We interview Coloradans who practice self care and community care through masking and share their stories through our social media educational campaign to build our community and raise awareness. 

Policies — We work  with local politicians to create policies that help protect Coloradans’ health freedoms.
