Fiona Gau has a Masters in Environmental Science with a focus in Occupational Safety, a Bachelors in Civil Engineering, and has completed all the coursework towards a Doctorate in Public Health. She is a Certified Safety Professional who has worked in public health, healthcare, academia, and the energy sectors.
Gau is a current stay at home mother and public health advocate who brings a wealth of experience to her efforts on behalf of MaskTogetherColorado. She loves working with data and sharing via Tableau to help people understand what is going on around them. Having seen the health impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic up close while working in a hospital in 2020, she knows how dangerous COVID-19 and other airborne respiratory diseases can be, and also how powerful layered protections efforts are to help people avoid illness. Masks, vaccines, clean air, symptom screening, testing, and air quality monitoring are tools that can help people avoid COVID-19. They can also help people avoid the health effects of other pollutants such as wildfire smoke, PM 2.5 and ground level ozone.
