Phil Nolan graduated from Nassau Community college and worked over eighteen years as a Stagehand, Stage Manager and a Roadie for several major rock acts. Then Phil transitioned to working as Technical Director for the advertising agency Ogilvy & Mather for over 16 years. Phil worked on commercials for several major accounts including IBM, Kodak, American Express and TD Ameritrade. Presently semi-retired, Phil does web design and animation.
To give back to society, Phil arranged fundraising bike tours for food banks. When the HIV epidemic hit in the 80’s, Phil volunteered for Gay Men’s Health Crisis. Upon finding out from a frustrated Nurse that HIV positive babies were being warehoused in nursing apartments instead of hospital wards, Phil joined the organization Northern Lights to fight for HIV positive children.
He and his family, and other members of Northern lights, would take shifts to comfort and advocate for the children at public hospitals. For the continued fight, they were able to convince the drug company to commit to providing AZT(the only drug that was working at that time) for free to every pediatric patient in the USA. Phil and his family, through Northern Lights, were in charge of hosting a Christmas party for all the HIV positive families in the New York area.
When the pandemic hit, Phil was instrumental in arranging over 100 vaccine appointments for family, friends and any elderly person he could find. Phil also works with Julie as admin for MaskTogetherAmerica’s Facebook platform. He designed, created and maintains MaskTogetherAmerica’s website.
