Elizabeth Sobieski is the author of The Masked Hatter: Pandemic Style on the Upper West Side (2021) from Vidya.Press. This book of photographs and essays provides a unique history of COVID during 2020, encouraging masking with great elan. Her masked and hatted images have been exhibited at the International Center of Photography and the University of Massachusetts. The book is also in the collections of the Library of the Costume Institute at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, The Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT), The New York Public Library, and The New York Historical Society. As The Masked Hatter, she has been covered in various media outlets. A novelist and screenwriter as well as a journalist, Sobieski's profiles of esteemed living artists and interviews with collectors and gallerists have graced the cover of The Art Economist Magazine multiple times. Her journalism career has also included profiling philanthropists, actors, musicians, architects, designers, producers, vintners, and car collectors for a variety of publications, including New York Magazine, White Hot Magazine, Avenue Magazine, the New York Post, Automobile Magazine, Cosmopolitan Magazine, The Huffington Post and Medium.
